In a case that has implications for Colorado and other medical marijuana states, Montana legislator Diane Sands has come under investigation by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, but she doesn’t know why. She suspects the investigation is related to her advocacy of liberalized marijuana laws.

She told the Colorado Independent that she has no involvement in medical marijuana beyond her work in the legislature. Read more.....

So by now you should have heard, the Susan G. Komen Foundation made headline news last week for their decision to “change their granting policies”, essentially cutting funding to Planned Parenthood.  Pretty quickly they learned that you don’t pick on underserved women in this country.  I’m very proud that so many of us banded together in support of Planned Parenthood and strong-armed SGK into changing their new policy before the ink even dried.  While this is great news for the women PP serves, we at PuffHo Read more.....

As a candidate for district attorney, I must have a position on the regulation or legalization of marijuana in order to respond to many voters’ legitimate concerns over this issue.A district attorney is responsible for the enforcement of all laws. A 69-year-old former drug smuggler has launched The Silver Tour to recruit fellow seniors at South Florida retirement communities as advocates for legal medicinal marijuana use.

Next tour stop: Temple Shaarei Shalom west of Boynton Beach, where an estimated 300 seniors are expected Sunday.

Robert Platshorn, tour organizer and a director of the state chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, believes winning over voting seniors is the answer to legalizing medicinal pot in Florida.

The dankest evening of the year!

They roll their sad joints with shake,
But I shan’t make that mistake!

The sound of the spliff to give and take.

Medical marijuana providers admit they’re a bit unnerved by last week’s reports that federal authorities may crack down on the industry in Colorado next year, but operators say they’re striving to strictly comply with state regulations while they wait and see what happens next.A law-enforcement official told The Associated Press last week that enforcement action is under consideration for Colorado early next year despite state laws that regulate and tax the industry — moves that marijuana advocates hoped would spare the state from the kind of crackdown that occurred in California. There, dozens of medical marijuana businesses, landlords leasing property to growers, and retailers selling medicinal pot over the counter were Read more.....

Two suspects attempting to elude Oregon State Police on Interstate 5 near Eugene Monday night tried to ditch some drugs by throwing them at the patrol car during the 110-mph chase.

A trooper stopped the men about 9 p.m. for speeding near milepost 183, state police said. The trooper was talking to the driver, identified as Joshua Lutz, 33, of Pacific, Wash., outside the car when Lutz got back in the vehicle and sped northbound.

During a chase that reached speeds of 110 mph, Lutz and passenger Nathan Garza, 32, of Auburn, Wash., threw bags of marijuana out the window, state police said. The car left the freeway about five miles down the road and stopped. Lutz fled, but the Read more.....

February 2010, the Columbia Police Department in Columbia, Missouri, raided a Columbia residence on the basis of a confidential informant’s testimony and marijuana residue found through a trash pull. The confidential informant was never identified, and the SWAT raid occurred without any pre-raid intelligence or surveillance, 8 days after the search warrant had been signed. A video was made of the raid for training purposes, and released to the public in May 2010, sparking an international response as the video immediately went viral. The video shows Columbia SWAT entering the residence at night and immediately shooting the family pets, then manhandling the family inside as they cleared the house. Only a minuscule amount of marijuana was found, and the target of the raid, Jon Whitworth, was charged with felony child Read more.....

Eighty percent of the books in the People’s Library have perished, according to Occupy Wall Street librarians. “I want our books back,” Frances said at a press conference on Nov. 22. “I want our space back. I want our movement back.”

Grow a sack of nuts, Eric Holder

By Mickey Martin

So apparently there is some high level bullshit running rampant through the US Department of Justice, and no one over there has a straight fucking answer for the medical cannabis community…even when asked by a member of congress. The constant inability for the leaders at the USDOJ, and Attorney General Eric Holder particularly, to express a clear and definitive stand on medical cannabis is alarming and dangerous. Yesterday, Attorney general Holder was asked by Colorado Representative Jared Polis to further clarify the position of the USDOJ where medical cannabis was concerned, and instead of taking his time under oath in front of congress to answer the million dollar question, Read more.....
